很多人都知道遺傳因子之外，適當的胎教都可以令到寶寶更聰明，究竟幾時開始胎教最好呢？
其實，孕媽媽可在懷孕第十六至十八周開始進行胎教，因為寶寶未出世在孕媽媽的肚子裡已經有感覺、意識及活動能力，對外界的觸覺、聲音及光線等刺激產生反應，但寶寶的反應因人而異，有些寶寶會有較活躍動手動腳，但有些寶寶較靜態沒有太大反應。
胎教三管齊下
胎教是孕媽媽與寶寶之間的溝通方法，建議孕媽媽可從以下各方面進行胎教，做個好老師全面教育寶寶。
1）語言
有些孕媽媽認為隔著肚子與寶寶說話或唱歌在自言自語很傻，寶寶根本聽不到或沒有反應。廖琳娜醫生指媽媽多用溫柔的聲線與寶寶說話或唱歌，能有助寶寶的大腦發展，更可以讓寶寶聽到熟悉的聲音感到親切，有安撫寶寶的作用。
2）撫摸
肢體接觸可以促進人與人之間的關係，孕媽媽可以用手來回在肚子輕輕撫摸寶寶，或輕輕拍打寶寶，可以刺激寶寶的神經及大腦幫助成長，而且媽媽同時為自己按摩紓緩疲勞，一舉兩得！
3）音樂
音樂可以令我們放鬆心情變得愉快，寶寶也不例外。媽媽可以播放一些古典音樂給寶寶聽，如貝多芬、莫札特、蕭邦等名家的樂曲，旋律及節奏比較平穩輕鬆，能穩定寶寶的情緒。媽媽每天可播放一至兩次，每次十五至三十分鐘，但播放時四周環境要寧靜，而且音量不宜太大，以免刺激寶寶。
名門少奶奶徐子淇分享，她除了聽莫扎特古典音樂外，還每日睇卡通片同講故事給寶寶聽，認為可以幫助寶寶腦部發展。
兩大營養素助腦部發育
另外，在懷孕期間，孕媽媽需保持均衡的飲食習慣，而且某些營養素更是對胎兒的腦部或智力的發展特別有好處，例如葉酸和DHA都是眾所周知有助腦部發育的營養素。葉酸能夠維護神經系統，在懷孕最初的4至6周是胎兒腦部發育的關鍵時期，葉酸正正是幫助胎兒腦部發育的重要營養素。至於DHA，它是大腦和視網膜的重要構成成份，對胎兒的智力和視力發育至關重要，深海魚類的DHA會軟化細胞膜、增加養份吸收的能力，有助於胎兒的腦部發育。Related:
